Arrow Crab eaten by a Fungia

A couple months ago, I came home from work to find some remains of my arrow crab sticking out of the mouth of a fungia coral. At the time, it was specifically working on slowly swallowing its long, pointy head.
Has anyone ever heard of a plate coral like that doing anything similar? I would imagine it was just a coincidence and the arrow crab died some other way and parts of it happened to land on the fungia - because I cannot imagine the fungia being able to win that battle on its own.

I ask partly out of curiosity in case anyone's seen anything similar, and partly because I'd like to get another arrow crab some day, but if it can't live with that coral then I'll stay away from another.

yes,,they will eat live foods,,,and consider yourself lucky..arrow crabs are bad~(see i dont have to say evil,,,even though it sounds so much cooler)

While it was alive, the arrow crab never seemed to bother anything. In fact, it was afraid of everything, including the cleaner shrimp, despite being larger than them.

So how would the fungia kill it, exactly?

all corals posses nemocysts (stinging cells) some are just more powerful that others. The fungia stings the crab to stun it and consumes it while still alive.
