| Padawan | c'mon.. what is the deal... ok, i just posted something about my hammer... now i notice this white stuff on my button polyps.. this was not there before... this month i have used Joe's Juice, and added a peppermint shrimp which i have not seen since i put it in there.. my PH levels have been off. could this be from the Juice? or maybe the pepp. died and its affecting my corals? heres a pic of the polyps... ![]() how do i get my PH to stabilize? i don't feel i should have to use a buffer(which i did) to get it to come up. shouldn't it be naturally at one level? i hope i don't lose the buttons, they are the most beautiful things in my tank, next to my candy coral... but it is growing and producing new polyps(easily over 150 now) but all of a sudden i see this white ring...

| Posting & Toasting! | Re: c'mon.. what is the deal... There is nothing wrong with your polyps. Those are palyhtoas (forgive my spelling) and they collect tiny bit s of sand as they grow. i actually believe that this is one of the distinguishing features between them and zoas. If you check the "trunk" or stalk you should also notice the white specks there as well. So nothing to be alarmed about.
