blasto placement

I got a Blatomussa wellsi for my birthday! I've read a bit about them but am finding conflicting info on their placement. Sprung says on a hard substrate at the bottom, but in most of the photos I've seen they are elevated in the rockwork. Right now he's shaded by my colt coral about 6" off the bottom resting flat on the rockwork, in a medium flow area. Where are yours?

I have a couple. One is mid level- medium flow and one is on sandbed -low flow. Both doing great.

I've got one in the husband's 14g, mid tank, I figure about medium flow, he's got one of those rotating doohickeys on the powerhead. Doing well, wasn't much to look at when I got it about 2 months ago, now the colors are pretty and it's got a new head too.

Thanks ladies! It sounds like ours are in sort of the same place so I think I'll leave him where he is for the time being.

mine are mid/high in moderate flow but away from the direct light. you can see them far right, just above thermometer.

Blastos don't do well under intense light/flow so if using halides they should be shaded or placed on the substrate.

i have one grew from single polyp to 20+ and recently half has died, and i think it is due to changing my flow around (no change in lights, on sand bottom of tank under MH),
i will put under lower flow, that should help hopefully
