Pink Hammer coral?

I read on Mr.Coral.com that pink hammer coral from Australia was "super rare"? This is because I see a hammer just like this week after week when I go to my favorite LFS (same one). It is beatiful, but no one seems to want it, and it isn't even expensive at all! I don't know the exact price though... At first I thought it might be bleached, but is it just a rare type of the wall hammer? I want it if it is lol! I get my new lights and hopefully permit in 2 weeks!!!

Re: Pink Hammer coral?

Depends on how pink you are talking. I have had several that were between pink and light brown. I have never seen one really "pink"

If you like it, then get it. Unless you have a fish like my tang who likes to eat them. Personally I love them, but hubby loves that fish. lol

Re: Pink Hammer coral?

Cool! Was it expensive and called rare? PS the one I saw was a bit more purpley like the one on Mr.Coral, but it was very similar to your beautiful one dobejazz!

I'm not sure how much I paid but it wasn't *expensive* maybe 20-30 dollars that tends to be my limit on corals.

Re: Pink Hammer coral?

I see them all the time at the wholesalers. I have never seen a 'vibrant' pink one though. The pinks are more common than the metalic green. Those are much more costly.

Re: Pink Hammer coral?

Possibly the issue could be that it is from Australia. Things cost more from there. I don't know. I will ask Sergio (the owner at ERI) on Sunday what he thinks.

I LOVE my hammer coral! It's not pink at all but very Green. Not sure if it's "metallic" green or not but it's really cook looking.

Get some pics of it buddy!!

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.
