Hi ... it is a Clavularia. There is well-known over 40 different Subsperies of the Clavularia. It is not Xeniea, those trains no Stolon.

upps ... sorry.

yepp... that can become a problem. clavularias cannot move itself as xenia, it possess a Stolon grown together firmly. If a sponge grows over the Stolon you can do unfortunately nothing against it.

A very strong current could be helpful. Clavularia love strong current. Sponges however not.

Re: What are they? Blue Polyps

So, they were almost all gone by the time I got home from work yesterday.....And on top of that, I couldnt frag them off. The mat was sooo thin, if I did get them, I dont think that the polyps would have lived. So, now I have this empty hole....sigh, I guess that this thread has come to an end...Im sorry to everybody that had their hopes up, cuz I did too, im sorry that I couldnt come through for ya'll. maybe next time....

Re: What are they? Blue Polyps

Fresh water dip the rock. That could kill the sponge and the coral could rebound! Remember a lot of corals melt down to nothing but begin growing from a small stub later!

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.
