| Social Darwinism victim | New zoo! OK, so I did things "right" and passed up the plate coral (boy it was hard!) and got some quite lovely zoos!!! They are acclimating fairly well I think, I dripped them with my turkey baster, stood there the whole time, like an hour and a half... now they are peeking out and looking around. On the downside, I think the #%%&# wrasse ate the peppermint shrimp I got!!!!

| Social Darwinism victim | Re: New zoo! Thanks! I have him on the bottom, 24 inches from the 150W MH, but I see a little very light orange discoloration in the form of small dots on some polyps. Could I be bleaching him already? He's been under the lights for about 2 to 3 hours yesterday, about 5 to 6 hours today.

| Pistol Shrimp | Re: New zoo! When I first read the title of this thread I was thinking that you went out and got more birds....or a cat so your birds will have playmates..... Congrats on the Zoas...I love the way mine have grown and spread.. I have some brilliant orange and green clusters that I got when I turned down a bubble... I think will enjoy them better than the plate...Let us see some pics of them in a few months when they start spreading....

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: New zoo! Congrats Kathy, they are beautiful! Other than matching temp, I just put my zoas right in the tank without a drip acclimation and they have always done fine. I placed my orange ones up high in my tank under a 250 MH (20K) from the beginning and they are doing fine. I doubt you are bleaching them from the light. I find the zoas take a few days to show their true color, but it's kinda like they are acclimating themselves.

| -CHAUVINIST PIG- | Re: New zoo! those are nice!!! but i never really acclimate my zoos. i give em a nice warm FW bath, possibly w/ a lil iodine if they are questionable, then i just toss them in. never had any problems. next time you might not have babysit for 90mins ![]()
