Question Flower Pot Question

I have never seen this before but my flower pot is swelling up like a full water ballon. Does anyone have an idea why it is doing this? The flowers disapear into the flowerpot and it gets about 3 times its normal size. All the water params are good. Nitrates 4 ppm and the phosphate is nill. I do a 5 gallon water change once a week. everybody else is fine and looking great and nothing has been changed in the tank.

Re: Flower Pot Question

I used to have a pink/red goniopora that did the same when ever i would add water or stir up the sand bed. it would even do it when a fish swam by... i think its a defense mechanism of some sort.

Re: Flower Pot Question

Just want to see what people say on this one... mine does something like that, it "hugs" itself if I disturb it suddenly and doesn't have time to retract, then when it relaxes it looks normal again. Thought it was a defense mechanism too.

Re: Flower Pot Question

Mine would do the same thing, I also think it's a defensive reaction.

Re: Flower Pot Question

Yeah, goniopora.org is where I got most of my info from. Slow server though.
