Are Anemones a must for raising clowns?

i am not a fan of anemones in tanks, yet i want to rais clowns. are they a must or just decor. thank you in advance

Many wont even host them.

Also if you want to TRY something there are many "alternate" things they will rest in

A much better idea.
If you want you can put some xenia or other "flowy" coral there for the movement but even that is not necessary.
Just a happy pair of clowns and something to lay their eggs on.

I toured ORA two weeks ago and saw about a million clownfish between breeding pairs and offspring. Never saw one anemone. Just little ceramic tile shacks.

You may not want to get an anemone since by asking this question I already know that you haven't read much on anemones. This question has been answered very many times. Anemones are hard to care for, so be careful and do your research first.
