| Fire Coral | I think my LTA is dying. About a month and a half ago I removed my DSB from my tank, waited a week or so until my readings were all good, and returned all my fish to the tank. My LTA long ago found the perfect spot in my tank and has lived there for about a year, but after I took out all the rocks, his rock was much lower and he didn't like that, and moved off of it. Since then, he has become very small (Was HUGE before!) and his tentacles have shriveled up to looking like limp noodles. He moved underneathe my rocks where I haven't been able to get him, but tonight I decided to go after him. Poor guy is still has a pink trunk but he's looking really bad. I don't know what guts coming out looks like, so I was wondering if anyone has any pics. It sounds stupid, but I can't tell if they are just tentacles shriveled up or what. Oh, and I smelled him, and no foul stench. I'll try to get a pic on here if I can. He just seems so listless. Reminds me of those sticky octopuses that you throw against a wall and watch flop down.... I don't want him to die!! I think I'm going to take him to my LFS tomorrow for them to babysit. |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Any Pics of a dying LTA? It certainly sounds like he is unhappy but moving him at this point may not be a good idea. I would give him the best environment possible and hope for the best. Be sure to keep the tank parameters excellent and feed him every day or two.

| Tunicate | Re: Any Pics of a dying LTA? I dont have any pictures but that sounds alot like what happened before ours died. It looked so sad, all shriveled up and then it started to spit out its insides. We moved the LTA to a sick tank we have set up and had proper lights on the sick tank and it still died on us. When it starts to "fall apart" and the pink trunk I would say get it out of the tank before it screws all your chemistries up. GOOD LUCK tho!!!
