| Midas Blenny | Re: My Anemone is no more... I forgot to add. This happened during a 3hr nap. When I woke up I saw that my tank was cloudy and the nem was becoming a puree in the corner. Is the cloudiness from the nem's remains or is it a bloom? I did a water change last night that took care of most of it and I did another one today, but ran out of my spare saltwater, so it was a small one. |

| Midas Blenny | Re: My Anemone is no more... Okay the nem is out of the cup on recommendation of the lfs. Minus a section missing out of his side, he appears to be ok today. His tentacles are out and he's attaching himself on the back of the rock work in the middle of the tank. Last edited by minicrazy592 : 09-24-2009 at 08:40 PM. |

| Midas Blenny | Re: My Anemone is no more... I can not put in words how mad I am right now. I just got back from running errands and guess what, my water is cloudy, you know what that means! The anemone got into the equipment again. This time he's done for good. He got into the other filter this time, that had netting around the intake. My in tank filter wasn't as kind as the other were. Not a piece left minus a bit of entrails and goo from what was once his foot. It's an absolute horrible and painful way to go. So it's official, the nem is gone and I'm never getting one again, ever. Here's a pic of what he squeezed through ![]() |

It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!! | Tunicate | Re: My Anemone is no more... You dont have to quit on anemones necessarily...see, the problem with alot of anemones is that they move WAY too much..all you have to do it get an anemone that doesnt move much at all and make the area around it comfortable for it. I have a Sebae anemone and he hardly moves at all. He's in a 5g tank and he's been there for about 3 months now, all opened up and moving his tentacles with the current :3 |
