| Torch coral | Does all anemones needs good light? Hi all, Today I saw at my LFS a lot of small colored anemones. They are about 1" and green and purple colors, really nice! I ask him if those needs light and said "just a little". I have PC and know that is not enough for an anemone, but just asking if there is a chance. Greetings |

| Razorback ![]() | Re: Does all anemones needs good light? What species? The answer is no; some anemones don't need any light at all as they are not photosynthetic (Cerianths). What light is required varies greatly from species to speciesc. When ever purchasing an anemone, the species needs to be identified as the lighting, water movement, and habitat requirements are very specific to each species. Some need to bury their foot in the sand, others in a crevice, some need 250w MH minimum, etc. Nems require a good bit of research before purchase; you need to know the exact species as a start

| Pistol Shrimp | Re: Does all anemones needs good light? ^^^^ +1 Rock nem. I have several. They don't get very big, and they are tough little buggers, but they do need lighting.
