Exclamation HELP with BTA/Crab!

Just brought my BTA home. Already have a porceline crab. My anemone is migrating around and ended up on the sand bottom (it's been in the tank about 45 minutes). Now my porceline anemone crab is entwined in the anemone--I'm worried he is going to get eaten!

Re: HELP with BTA/Crab!

This may seem like a funny question to ask, but does the anemone like it? The anemone keeps moving around and my husband thinks it is trying to get away from the anemone crab (who spotted the anemone within 5 minutes of being in the tank and ran to it!)

Anemones will move around until they find a spot they like.

LOL...it might not be a spot you like though! Mine hid at the back of the tank...so I didn't get to see it...

How long has your tank been up? What kind of lighting do you have?

Re: HELP with BTA/Crab!

Chimpunkofdoom2--you are not going to like my answer....my tank has only been up for almost 2 months now (I know, I know....but I'm a scientist and dammit we just have to buck the system!) and it is a RSM130. The anemone and crab are doing great. It hasn't really moved since the first night. I had a nice place on top of my rocks that I thought would be perfect....but I guess not! Luckily, it is in front wedged between 2 clusters of rocks. The crab is just hanging out, loving every minute of it!!
