RBTA questions?

I was wondering i just recently got a clownfish and it has hosted with my RBTA, but the anemone is shrinking and acting strange is this a common thing when they first start pairing up?

Re: RBTA questions?

Not really. Doesn't sound overly promising.

How long have you had the anemone?

What size tank?

How long has it been up and running?

What are you using for light?

What are your current water test results?

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: RBTA questions?

That's plenty of light. Maybe it's just still getting "acclimated" to your tank. It's possible the clown is too rough and it's just getting used to everything. Keep an eye on it and if it expels it's "innards" think about removing it from the tank. Also watch for continued loss of color.

Re: RBTA questions?

How big is the clown? How big is the anemone? The anemone should be a little bigger than the clown or it will close up and shrink and in most cases, die.
