I wouldnt move the anemone at all. Any stress is likely to be a BAD thing.

First off... don't panic!

Gotta remember that BTA's reproduce by ripping themselves in half (or in quarters in my case)... I don't think a little puncture (or even a fairly large one) is going to necessarily mean imminent death.
I kinda did the same thing you did when taking out a pretty large BTA to return it to the LFS (the original 'seed' BTA that started my huge colony), but instead I tore off a good portion of it's foot.
Not only did the anemone survive, it ended up splitting in the LFS tank (dangit... he got a 2 for 1 deal ), and the piece of foot that tore off spent the next couple of weeks crawling around the rockwork looking for a good place to start growing.
I finally lost track of the foot piece right before tearing down the old tank.

I just wanted to let you know that there is hope... don't count yourself out yet.

Well guys, I had to pull the anemone. I woke up in the middle of the night to check it and make sure the tank hadn't crashed. It still looked like it might make it but this morning, it was looking worse. Half of its foot wasn't attatched to the substrate, it was sliming like crazy, and everything in the tank appeared pretty stressed. I knew I wouldn't be home for most of today so I didn't want to risk my whole system crashing.

I think I made the right decision because as I was removing it, I could see that the puncture went through the foot and into the anemone's mouth. Just not a good situation and I am sick at myself for doing it. I guess hindsight is always 20/20 but I hate that the consequences led to a dead anemone...

Thanks again for everyone's advice and I wish I had better news. If anything, I hope at least someone can learn from my mistakes.

Thanks
Scott T.
