Well...yes. If it catches a fish, shrimp, crab, whatever, it will eat it. Keep it fed regularly (twice a week) with bits of krill or silversides to keep it happy.

Re: green carpet Anemone

Is your tank well established with lots of light (MH or LED)?
If not you really should return the carpet. They are very difficult to keep and yes they will eat any fish they can get.

Re: green carpet Anemone

Great!
You will still want to keep a close eye on it, but it sounds like you are set-up and ready.

Re: green carpet Anemone

It's a refreshing change of pace to see a person ready for their anemone! I hope you suffer NO casualties while it's hunting for its home.

You've done ONE thing very, VERY wrong, though!

I don't see any

PICTURES.

Finally someone who is ready for it and you are going to take it back. Sounds like you are a very responsible reefer.
Tank looks great.

Re: green carpet Anemone

Thanks for the picture......your tank is really, really nice! The anemone is beautiful, too...the green looks great in there.

How is it acting now? Have you tried feeding it? How have your fish reacted to it?

Re: green carpet Anemone

Some people here have carpets in their reefs... have you seen Woody's? Here's a link to a picture of her Haddoni... if I didn't link correctly (which is entirely possible!) the picture is in post #2795. ~Woody's 120 Escapade~

She also has some video footage further on in her chronicle of her clowns after she re-introduced them into her reef.

Re: green carpet Anemone

She just recently put her fish back into the tank. She had them in QT for quite some time due to a battle with ich. Her carpet is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Try the last page or two. I know she has at least one video up after the fish were put back in the reef.

Re: green carpet Anemone

Carpet anemones are very demanding and are notorious fish eaters.

VERY beautiful animals, but I've seen them eat large tangs and angels,, not to mention numerous small fish like damnsels and mandarins.
