Re: Need Help Asap!!!!!!!!!

oooooohhh, might have read the dimensions wrong.

yeah, longer is pricier. BUT you could get a pendant and suspend it, that's not length-dependent.

Re: Need Help Asap!!!!!!!!!

Tiffany, do you have a canopy on your tank? If so, you could consider a retrofit kit. Then you do the install yourself and you save some money.

Here's a 36" 4x39w T5 High Output retrofit kit.. The price of this kit includes the four bulbs:

I just finished putting this same fixture (except it's 6x39w) together and it really wasn't hard at all. I've NEVER done anything electrical before, and I was able to figure it out.

I'm glad you're willing to do what you can to save your anemone... their lives are very important!

Re: Need Help Asap!!!!!!!!!

if you want something for your clowns to host, try a colony of xenia, my clowns LOVE it. they suckle on its tentacles, they sleep in it, only leave it to catch food. just as fun as watching them in an anemone

I too learned the hard way about Anemones. they dont just die, they start dying and they fight to stay alive for a while, and the clowns dont leave it alone
I have learned my lesson and the anemone was planted in my backyard.
will it start growing in the spring? cant wait to find out! (thats a joke)

Re: Need Help Asap!!!!!!!!!

You are going to want at least 4 bulbs.
Tek 36" 2x39 watt T5 HO Retro System is another option.

Tek also makes a ReadyFit kit. Which is basically a retro kit already put together for you.
SLS Ready Fit T5 3ft

Re: Need Help Asap!!!!!!!!!

Just caught up on this one. I even figured out a few things about some posts on another subject completly off this topic! Man i am getting good
But back to your tank Tiffany, I am sorry to say but not only is your anemone going to die, if you decided to keep it it will slowly pollute your tank and then other stuff is going to die. Two anemones in a tank 3 weeks old. It takes at least a year for a system to mature and be able to sustain an anemone long term. I admire your willingness to try though. You are going to make an awesome reef keeper in a few years! would look past Bobs avatar (he's scary) and listen to what he said. He made a lot of sense in his posts.
If you chose to keep them though they will live a little longer if you remove those clowns. Their adding a great deal of stress on top of what the anemone is already going through.

I just got it and don't really want to give it up (I know selfish) but at the same time I don't want it to die. The other anemone is doing great seems to love it in there. I really would have to think about this.

I have a question. There is some thing I don't under stand and thats probably because I am use to freshwater fish, but if I have rock that has been sitting in a reef tank for about two years and sand thats been sitting for around the same and equipment that came from the same place what left do you need to cycle??
