Thumbs up Anemones Hosting Clowns (Pic intense)

Let's see your photos of anemones hosting clowns. Tell us the type of anemone and clown.

Although there is no guarantee that a clown will take to an anemone, at least here you can see those that have matched up successfully.

Tank raised black & white clowns (one solid blk, the other has an orange beard) hosted by a haddoni anemone

Re: Anemones Hosting Clowns (Pic intense)

I used to have a pair of orange skunk clowns (removed them when they began harrassing other fish in the reef).

One was an ORA bred orange skunk, the second was a wild caught orange skunk. They would hop from the RBTA to the haddoni. The male skunk preferred the RBTA while the larger female liked the haddoni anemone best.

I also used to have a pair of black saddleback clowns (Amphiprion polymnus) that were hosted by my blue haddoni.

GSM clowns hosted by a RBTA. These were by far the meanest clown fish I ever kept. Beautiful but so aggressive!

Wow those gold stripped maroons are so pretty. Those are deffenetly on my top three right now! Was there anything in the tank that was also aggressive that seemd to work with them being there too?

The maroon clowns were only aggressive when a fish/shrimp/my hand, etc came to close (6-12") to their anemone. It wasn't too bad until the female attacked my harlequin shrimp and jerked one of its arms off
I removed the clown pair and the harlequin eventually regrew its arm back after a few molts.

Re: Anemones Hosting Clowns (Pic intense)

Here's a quick pic of my clowns (Harold and Maude).
The guy I got the original tank said they were true percs and the anemone is a Sebae. Will try to get a better pic tonight when I get home.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: Anemones Hosting Clowns (Pic intense)

I may just have to get real lights for my clown tank. These pics are so great. I was going to just add some softies and hope they hosted there but if I just ordered a Remora for a 20g and I have a pair of clowns so all I need are lights and the amemone. HMM I see my credit card statement rising already.
