My Green Buble

Unfortunately while writing my initial post(in the nano reef section) My GBTA has somehow been folded back behind the LR and Is out of the light... Me being the Aquarium Noob I am deiced to help my new found friend and try to somehow blow him back to where he was in doing so I moved the rock ... BIG MISTAKE... he has now moved his footing towards the complete back of the LR and so now I’ve placed the LR in the middle of the tank so that he wouldn’t possibly get squished if I were to place the LR back... how can I get him to unfoot.. I know not to force him that it will result in hurting him very badly ... I’ve put him in the path of the powerhead and turned the lights off to hopefully make him think Oh no BAD place! Any ideas?

Also I was reading up on BTA and found out that they split... now the GBTA I got was the Biggest the LFS had its about 8" wide when completely open... during this whole fiasco of moving the rock I’ve noticed something ... my GBTA has 2 feet.... is that normal?

so apparently you need a moderator to approve of your first post so I jumped around and saw the anemones page and read about the CC trick which worked like wonders and I got him back to his spot but with his feet pointing down this time but it was Hilarious cause I kind a need to hold him there while he was getting his feet places but soon as he was back my clowns were like well take it from here and they are holding him in place at least that’s what it looks like and he’s starting to refoot which I’m very glad he is doing... I was so worried when doing the CC thing cause it just seemed like it would be painful but he was never closing up while I was doing it so I assume he’s ok... he still hasn’t closed up at all if anything he’s just refooting and repointing himself towards the lights...

Well it looks like one foot is on the rock to the left and the other foot is on the rock to the right... and there appears to only be one mouth ... is this guy splitting?

Beautiful pair! Lovely GSM

That looks to be a bubble tipped aneome? Make sure you feed it small pieces (1/4") of marine foods (shrimp, scallop, etc).

Yup, that will work just fine. He will grab the food with his tenticels and take it into his mouth. I usually squirt food in the general area of his mouth, but do not try to force the "baster" into his mouth because you could hurt him. Welcome to RS, by the way!!

well thats perfect then cause thats all I did this morning was squirt them all in his Tenticles cause the way he WAS (it was so perfect) positioned before I stupidly moved the rock his mouth was deep inside and he had wedge position him self in there and the Clowns could go inside and just have their little faces poked out.

Re: My Green Buble

Xelnaga, Welcome to the Sanctuary. It's best to not disturb the anemone at any time. If it moves behind the LR that is where it wants to be. They have an uncanny way of moving about! Also, what kind of light do you have. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but the GBTA looks bleached. It may not be getting enough light. As for the splitting, hopefully someone else will come along to answer that. Best of luck to you!

Yeah i really didnt feel right unfooting him but I had allready moved the rock like a dummy ... where ever he goes from now on im not doing anything

Ive got the Stock lighting on the 29Gal Bio cube The LFS said it would be enought lighting Yesterday he was really NEON Green but not all over.

I sure hope i wasnt misled by them and i dont have enough lighting for him.

Re: My Green Buble

I'm not familiar with stock lighting. Is it MH (metal halide) or something else? What wattage is the bulb? How long has the cube been set up? Sorry for all the questions, I guess I should look for your other posts, perhaps my questions can be answered there.

and the stock lighting is uhhh ... it says coralife 10000k 36watt on one bulb and coralife 36watt atinic on the other

EDIT: Note that the water is Verry cloudy due to a red slime treatment i did yesterday and i have roughly 6 more hours before i can put my fliter/carbon back into the tank (the instuctions said to take out for 24 hrs after treatment)
