Question Possible Problem or OK?

Ok I am curious about something. I have a nice pink tube anemone in my tank. I am going to be getting a Rose BTA and a pair of True Percs on the 15th for my birthday. Is there any chance that the Percs will try mating with the Tube Anenome and get eaten in the process or are they smart enough to stay away from him? I do not want to lose the Tube Anenome but my heart has been set on this mated pair of Percs and the RBTA for a long time now.

Any thoughts?

I am no expert, but I think it will be fine. I have a condilactus anemone in my tank and my clown will not go anywhere near it. I think they are pretty good at identifying the good guys from the bad guys. I think all will be well, but again, I am no expert!!

Tube anemones are not sybiotic and will most graciously and viciously, eat your clowns if they go in there! I'd also be concerned with these two anemones meeting up in the tank. That tube may kill the BTA. If you have your heart set on the RBTA/Clown host relationship, then I suggest getting rid of the tube. Better yet, set up a new tank just for the tube!

Re: Possible Problem or OK?

Does anyone think that they will play nice? My friend has a Tube Anenome and a pair of Clownfish and they have stayed away from the Tube. If I put something over the Tube until the RBTA settles in somewhere and move the Tube away from her would that work? Or can they sense each other and it will seek the RBTA out and attack her?

Has anyone had any luck with these two types of Anenome in their tank or know of anyone that has?

Re: Possible Problem or OK?

The Tube Anemone shouldn't be a problem as it's not a natural host for clownfish and it will usually stay put unlike other Anemones.
