That's a great site! I'll have to try fragging my mushrooms.

Re: Any Aptasia Fans Out There?

I think its cool that you like them. I have one that lives in my refugium. I don't mind as long as it doesn't spread. I keep a close eye out for that but to this date it is all i have. It's been in there for about 4 months now.

Re: Any Aptasia Fans Out There?

I have one that infiltrated my tank through a frag and it has moved to my zoanthid garden but as long as it doesn't spread I have no problem with it.

I don't mind a few in the reef, but they just spread so quickly.
I have some in my overflow and they are quickly taking over. I am going to get another peppermint and have him live in the overflow until he does his job.

Steve, Steve, calm down man. Switch to decaf.
Give the caffiene to the peppermint ninjas and let them go to town.
How big are the ninjas now? 5, 10 lbs? Sorry 10, 20 kilos? (forgot you guys are metric up there)

Hayes wants to know what it takes to help them grow. What did you do to raise your aiptasia garden?

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: Any Aptasia Fans Out There?

Steve, are you on reefspace? There's a guy with a thread on peppermint ninjas and aiptasia during the reading of which I laughed my a$$ off...

I got a peppermint because I think I have at least one. There's a neat whitish thingy growing on one of the rocks and I want to go "by the book" until I feel confident enough to make my own decisions. Or maybe I'm just insecure.

Re: Any Aptasia Fans Out There?

Its ok now my Thorazine dose has kicked in, that was my reefspace blog on the little brown menace, the peppermint ninja's have gone from invisibly small to very large and now roam like a pack all day, Barbieclown is constantly attacking them when they get too close to the comfy couch anemone, seems they have lost interest in aiptasia or Im overfeeding the mysis again, if you want them to grow just attack them, they are like rats, when threatened they reproduce like mad, somewhat like the snakes on Medusa's head, for every one pulled you get two

Re: Any Aptasia Fans Out There?

I have aiptasia taking over my overflow. I tried to put some peppermints in there but I think the aiptasia ate them. They disappeared never to be seen again even in the sump or fuge.
I really need to break down and get some Joe's and get rid of them but they are so darn hard to reach.
