Should I intervene?

My tank has been set up for almost a year and my water parameters has been stable for several months so I ordered a bubble tip anemone which I've wanted since before I got my setup. It came via Fed Ex on Friday. I temperature acclimated it for 30 minutes (I know there are varying opinions on this but I followed the vendors instructions here). After temperature acclimation, I placed it high on my rockwork on a large flat piece of rock that is the span of an arch. Within 30 minutes it had walked over the edge and underneith the rock hanging upside down in a pretty high flow area. It stayed pretty much in the same place until Sunday when moved over next to a hole in the same rock where it seems to be getting at least some light. Because of its location, I can barely see it and have been unable to feed it. I've read that sometimes they "pout" for a while while getting acclimated to the tank. Should I wait it out for it to come into the open? Do I need to worry about feeding it until it does? I don't want to add any more stress to its life unnecessarily. Lighting is 260w PC on a 75 gal. tank.

I would just let it be. You could stress it out more. It will find the right spot. Do you have a clown for the anemone ? If so, feed the clown and it might take food to the anemone.

I've got a clown but he's pretty enamoured with a colony of hairy mushrooms right now. Any chance he'll move to the anemone by himself? I had thought that once the anenmoe settled in I might try covering the mushrooms to try and encourage the clown to host the anemone.

You could try covering the mushrooms for a short time.. Hopefully the clown will work its way over to the anemone..

I agree with BlueEyes. Just leave it alone. They go where they want, when they want. I have a BTA that is upside under an overhang, but every morning when the light comes on it stretches around to capture the light. Don't worry, you'll see it!

Also, I wouldn't try to entice the clown over to the anemone. Leave the clown and mushrooms alone too. Let instinct and nature do their thing. You'll be better off in the long run!

Yes I agree with Scott, just let it be. The Anemone will take time to adjust to your tank and the more you try to feed or move it the more stress your inducing. Which sp. Clown do you have ?

Not great with the clown ID's. I got it with the tank. It's black w/ white stripes a little orange on the face, about 2" long. False percula, is what the owner said, I think. Wait, I've got a picture.

The natural host for the Ocellaris is the carpet anemone and it can be very picky but eventually may accept the BTA.
