Condi anemone

I have a condi which is doing real good I feed him a shrimp every 3 days and he is doing great sometimes he closes up for a few hours and why he is close he releases like a string of slim looking stuff thats white is this normal and is it bad for my tank?

Warning on the condy. They get HUGE! I had one that did so well I had to get rid of it. It's tentacles streched out almost a foot long and none of my fish would even go to that side of the tank. I gave it to one of the kids's marine biology classes and they were thrilled with the donation.
