Help Me Pick Please?!

Ok everyone.. I want an Anenome that will host True Percs as those are the “Nemo” clownfish that my girlfriend wants in the tank..

I have decent flow and moderate light setup (T5 216watts).

My tank is a 55 Gallon that is 48 long.

I have Zoas that are doing well in the tank and such. My new Remora C Pro is pulling all kinds of stuff out of the water.

I have had 2 BTA in the past.. although 1 was the first month I got my tank and should never have been bought (I do not go to that LFS anymore).. that was also before I met all you nice people here at the best place on the web..

The 2nd I think was not good when I got it because it died and my water levels never spiked or had any problems… plus I never saw her eat the whole time I had her.

I do not want a carpet.. I know that..

What do you all recommend?

I checked and it says that they need High light level.. I only have Moderate. That is why I think it is looking like it is going to be between an LTA and a BTA.

Feedback of course is appreciated.

BTA is the easiest to keep of these difficult animals. How old is the tank? You want at least a year old before trying it again.

Re: Help Me Pick Please?!

I have a Sebae and my true percs love it. They never wander far from it.
They all came together with my 30 gallon which I bought from a friend who just didn't have the time anymore. Once I cleaned everything and changed the lights it has done remarkably well. I only have T5's in mine and it seems to be doing well. It is about 9" from the surface of the water so that may be helping. When I first read about them I was terrified that I was going to kill it by accident because everyone said they are hard to keep. I lucked out.

If I was going to buy one new, I would definitely want one in decent health before I got it. Alot of the ones in our pet stores are very bleached out. I thought something was wrong with mine for the longest time because it wasn't white and puffy. I thought puffy was good because that was all I saw at the pet store.

Would also recommend following Lynn's info about an established tank.

Hope this helps.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: Help Me Pick Please?!

Ok well I have decided. I am going to go with a RBTA and a pair of True Percs. The LFS I am going to is going to pre-mate the pair and the RBTA before I even get it so that they are all playing nice already.

My tank is now just about a year old. Everything seems to be doing well. Decent pod population. Good water levels. Skimmer and such working.

Thanks for your input.
