distraught over anenome.

bought a 14 gallon nano cube and a skimmer.I have had many say that a 14 gallon is not large enough to keep an anenome.I had my heart set on a rose bubble tip to host my clowns. I wont risk crashing the tank for it though. Please reccomend some corals that will host theese fish. Thanks, Chris

Re: distraught over anenome.

u can have an anemone in there, the thing is that u will need very good filtration and have to make sure to keep an eye on the water quality.
I have seen clowns host in frogspawn too though, which is more foregiving that an anemone with less light requirements and looks pretty similar

what clowns do you have, how old is the tank, and any experience/dedication to these animals?

Re: distraught over anenome.

You dont have to have an anemone... Mine host in yellow polyps and zoos... I would try some xenia they will usually host in that... Also be warned that they will not always host. Some clowns just wont host.

Re: distraught over anenome.

My maroon clown hosts in my scrolling hammer. It looks every bit as cute as one hosting in an anemone and is much easier to keep alive.

Re: distraught over anenome.

thank you all for great input. I looked at some of those corals and found them to be just as attractive as an anenome.

Re: distraught over anenome.

I had a rock/flower anemone in my 12g for a while, and it was doing great!

Unfortunately it's not an anemone that will host.

I haven't gotten a hosting anemone to survive in my tank yet. I've tried a sebae and a carpet. My clownie loved the carpet and I was sad to see it go, but he's doing just fine without one.
