I hope so Blue Eyes. He's in QT right now, looking alittle puny. It may be more stress than he can endure.

Good luck with the bta i have had a few die on me. My first got sucked up in my biowheel filter on my 55 gallon my second one was attached to two rocks that were next to each other and my maroon clown put a hole right through it and when i got home it was just swimming in the hole and now my third one is strong. I love the pair but they can be trouble. it will come around dentoid i have faith POSITIVE KARMA TO YOU

Re: Emergency-injured Bta

It parished. Hind site being 20/20, it may have faired better if I left it in the main tank, but it was on the move and I couldn't risk the loss of other sessile corals, or it getting caught in my Eco Tech propeller pump. My clowns are dumfounded. They've been looking for it all day.

That stinks. I am sorry to hear it, but I know you tried your best to save it and that is all we can do.

I decided to remove it because the clowns were picking at the wound (could they have caused this?)
Clowns can sometimes bite and ingest the tenticles of Anemones and corals, in this case they may have noticed something wasn't right about the anemone and tried to remove the damaged area. Are you sure it wasn't caught on a ph ? Which one's are you using {ph's} ? The BTA's have a weak sting so it wouldn't of harmed your corals unless the contact would've been continuous.

Re: Emergency-injured Bta

Sorry to hear, had hoped for better news.

Now that you mention it, do you think the damage was from getting caught in the Eco Tech propeller pump. Injury looked like it could have been.

Re: Emergency-injured Bta

anemones are tuff to acclimate if the clowns in the tank are rough on it if u get a new one remove the clowns and get it eating some silversides when its big and healthy thats the time to introduce the clowns

I'm sure it didn't get injured by the PH. Unless he climbed over the rocks and up the glass, the Propeller pump is near the top of the tank, and then climbed down, over the rocks again and went right back to the place he was originally. Anything is possible but this series of events is quite improbable. I watched it closely while it was hiding behind the rocks, I think either a crab or the clowns did the damage. I hate to lose a specimen, but it has added to my knowledge of these sensitive organisms.

Re: Emergency-injured Bta

Scott your box is full so hope you see this. if it survived the trip to qt I would hesitate to move it again, but it needs good light to survive, if you have lots of time to drip still going to add stress 6 of 1 ,1/2 dozen of the other and can you keep the clowns off him?
