| Bryozoan | Re: new seabae anemone As long as you have consistant water params a sebae should do well. They all seem to have their own individual preferences as far as light and flow. I read so much on flow and light requirments for sebae anemone before I bought one and then he attached himself in a place with low to moderate flow and sort of shaded from the light. So I was worried and tried to get more flow and light to his newly aquired home and as soom as I did he packed up and moved. The other thing with sebae's is that most of the ones I have seen at most LFS that I go to and also online are bright white with purple tips. Sebae anemonies are not white in nature they are a tanish brown color (with variations of course) but the fact that they are bright white means a loss of their photosynthetic cells which means that you will have to nurse them back to health. By way of spot feeding and ensuring good consistant water params. It is possible to nurse one back to health, but it is not garenteed. Anemonies are very slow to die and to heal so if it is too far gone then nursing it back to health will be much harder and slower. Also make sure that the tentacles are still sticky and the mouth opening is still tightly closed and that it can attach to something. So when going to purchase a sebae just know what to look for and it should do fine in your system. Good luck! |

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: new seabae anemone I agree with what was just posted. I spent a good couple of months trying to find a picture of sebae that wasn't white with purple tips. I thought mine was sick. If this thing gets any "sicker" I'm going to have to buy a bigger tank. This picture makes it look more brown than it is. It is much more pink. ![]()

| Bryozoan | Re: new seabae anemone Wow....Thats is HUGE. Your right it is very very rare (atleast from the resarch I have done) to find non-white sebae. Mine was white when I got him..but after a month he is starting to brown up. Very impressive. How big is your Sebae it is hard to see anything that will help give me an idea about the size of yours in the picture. |

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: new seabae anemone That is a 55g tank. I'm estimating he's pushing 18" across. He gets one whole end to himself. Has never moved and has never eaten a fish. knock on wood.

| Bryozoan | Re: new seabae anemone Wow very impressive. If you dont mind...did you buy it big or was it small when you got it and how long did it take to grow to such a massive size? I have had mine for a few months now and can see that it has grown since I bought it but still mine is about 6" across |
