| Watch this Ma! | Re: Anemone Club! ![]() This thing, when it is full, takes up an entire corner of the tank. The tank is 48 x 24 x 24 so when it's fully open, it's almost 12" across. It really looks like it's going to split soon.

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Anemone Club! My parents and my in-laws were here today so I had to show off a bit. ![]() I thawed out a silverside, reached into the tank and put the silverside in the flow so it got nudged into the anemone. It had barely touched it's tentacles when the monster jerked and immediately closed on the silverside. Everybody, including me, went WOW!!! ![]() It must have been hungry! ![]()

| Social Darwinism victim | Re: Anemone Club! reminds me I gotta feed the bta and corals... Mine is getting DARK. I thought it was a nice color but it keeps getting DARKER. Is that good? It's been moving alot, not away from its spot but waving itself around independently of the flow.

| Watch this Ma! | Re: Anemone Club! When I feed it later this week, I'll try out the video mode on this new fangled camera I have. Speaking of feeding an anemone, I see a lot of posts where people grind up a silverside into mush to feed the anemone. I don't understand the purpose of this. In the wild, they catch and eat whole fish. I just thaw out a silverside in RO/DI water, rinse it with more RO/DI, then place it on it's tentacles. Five minutes later the anemone is fully back open and there isn't a trace of the silverside. I tried the same thing with a piece of krill and it displayed zero interest in it. In fact, one of my cleaner shrimp went into the anemone and grabbed the krill, took it up to a rock and ate it. Anemone also leaves the cleaners alone and they crawl all over it.

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: Anemone Club! I could understand the ground silverside if the anemone was weak or dying. It might help it digest it easier. My sebae will eat krill. Must just not be on the menu for RBTA's.

| Social Darwinism victim | Re: Anemone Club! When the one I have was bleached and had zero response, I mushed up silverside and used a plastic syringe. It took forever to get it into its mouth. It gradually graduated to tiny pieces, now it gets a quarter of one and it's gone in seconds. Gotta start on bigger pieces and see what happens.
