I have never owned an LTA Rebekah. But I am certian no one will beat you with wet seaweed

We prefer to slap people with a wet trout. (Sorry joke from the chat room. I had to do it.)

When the research says they are not for beginners there is a reason. Anemones need very good very stable water quality. Also they have such a slow metabolism something can be very wrong for a long time before they show any symptoms. By the time they do, it is too late to do anything about it.

It might be easier to set your husband up with his own membership and then let us whip him with the seaweed. Cuts out the middle woman.

Thanks, Victor, exactly what I was looking for.

So as we're probably moving in 1 year my tank won't be quite mature enough for safe acquisition of an anemone. Will clowns host in a fakey?

And holy cow, they live for a hundred years? I already have anxiety trying to figure out who the parrots are going to when I kick the bucket.

Personally I wouldn't get a fake. I would get some mushrooms or a hammer or frogspawn. Many times the clown will use those and other soft corals as a host.

I'm wondering if my lighting is sufficient. I have a condilactus that was stark white when I bought it. I had no clue they were supposed to be tan/brown. Well now it's a dark tan color. Does that mean that my system is stable and that it's getting enough light?

Oh, and as far as my husband joining, I think he would most deffinitely get whipped with wet seaweed, lol. He's a deffinite impulse buyer, and has bought everything in our tank that we should not have while shopping alone. I will see if he wants to join, you all might be able to stop the madness!!

LOL Sounds like my husband at the beginning. Finally he has slowed down and just last weekend left the LFS without the fish he wanted then looked it up before buying the next day. There is hope.

If your anemone has gone from white to tan, then it sounds like it is getting enough light. It also means its getting healthier. Way to go! Karma for that one.

It took me along time to realize that they aren't supposed to be white and puffy. I bought my tank used so the anemone was already in there. I thought puffy was good and was worried because it never looked like any of the pictures. It always looked deflated. Now its 3 times the size of when I got it.
Went from too small for both clowns to get tucked in a night to they can invite 12 friends over for a slumber party. lol

Here is the after. This was taken recently, his color has changed drastically. He blows around in the current alot more now, which may help him out a bit after reading that article...

Yeah, it is just from April. I though it was really pretty when it was white, I had no clue!! I am a little concerned though, because the article said they should deflate no more than 2x a week. Mine deflates once a day for about 30-45 mins like clockwork.
