Sorry I haven't updated in a while work has been keeping me busy. But really I don't mind, because it's helping me progress things with my tank a lot faster.
This week I purchased a 20L All Glass tank for my future sump, that I will most likely be working on this weekend. My heater also arrived several days ago, and it's working flawlessly.
Today I ordered the first 45lbs. of my Fiji Liverock from Reefer Madness
. I kind of want to see how their stuff looks before ordering the whole shabang, and to see if i'll even want 90lbs in my tank. My initial thought was if I start to keep SPS corals it will give them more room to grow and thrive, which is what I want. Well that, and more open room for my fish to swim.
The next decision that I have to make however is what to purchase next. I just got my paycheck and I still need my lights, skimmer, return pump, and hang on overflow, and of course the possible remaining 45lbs of rock. Personally I was thinking of using the money to buy the nicest skimmer I can since I may be stocking my tank a little heavy fish-wise. I am looking at the ASM G1-X. Only problem with buying that is that I can't use it right away because my sump isn't set up.
I still need the overflow, and return pump. So it may be out of commision for a while. But at least it will be in use later, right?
But really I don't need the skimmer running during the cycle, do I?
So in the next couple of weeks I hope to have the bulk of the work done, so as I promised I'll post some updated pictures. I'm too tired to do it tonight, and I have to work in the morning, so I'll get around to it tomorrow night.
Oh also, if anyone has any Hang-on overflows, or old return pumps that they don't want, send a PM this way. I'm always looking for a bargain.
