| If you use just the housing, as shown on the powerhead, there is virtually NO resistance or loss of flow. I've never lost a fish or anemone with one of these, and the only inverts that can have a problem are those small enough to fit thru the openings, which are less than 1/4" tall. Foam tends to plug over time, and needs frequent cleanings to help prevent them from becoming bio-filters and creating nitrates.
