lemme tell ya- you are going to love your clownfish!!! the only reason I wanted a salt tank was because i wanted either an ocellaris clown, or a percula clown, and I got the captive bred juvenile percula like you have in your pic. they are so fun!!! and they will eat right from your hand!!! (also hardy, they aare related to damsels, but alot nicer). your nitrate spike was most likely caused by the LR cycling. i agree with what everyone else said, but I started my tank with LS, LR and a couple of fish (damsels) and it didnt even register any spikes, except for a little ammonia spike at first. if you have stuff growing in it already, your doing great!!! keep up the great work and inspiration to those of us wanting bigger tanks!!!
