Yeah, but it might compromise the strength of the stand.

I would personally wait the four weeks for a new stand, so that in years to come, the cracks don't grow and then getting a big problem to deal with.

Ask the folks at Tenecor if they would send it Express, so that you could get it a lot faster. Then you could charge the cost of the Express shipping to the shipping company for their screw up on cracking the base (if it was them).

Whatever you plan on doing, good luck with it!

EDIT : Another thing you could do is go to an acrylic shop in your area, and get them to cut off that bottom sheet, and get them to put one on there, so that you don't have to do it all yourself.

All in all, I would still go with getting Tenecor to do it again, because you shouldn't be paying for other peoples mistakes.
