| The vet hospital where I work deals with alot of breeders both cats and dogs. The owner of the place is the vet at alot of the shows. We see all types of pure breeds because of that. Pure bred cats can be very pricey! I was once interested in a breed called a somali. Asked one of our clients what the price was for a kitten and she said pet quality was $600.00! This was back in 1989! I had been so used to getting my cats from barns or from around dumpsters that when I heard the price my jaw dropped to the floor! Needless to say, I didn't get one!
Now, at my job, if I wait long enough, one will be dumped off. And yes, breeders do that alot. That's how I got my sheltie and from what I hear might be getting a cornish rex soon! |
