I will tell you right off, be wary of wild caught zoanthids. I prefer to pick and choose from colonies that have been in captivity for quite some time (I learned this the hard way). Luckily, many of the online dealers that specialize in zoanthids propagate their own from mother colonies...

I prefer small frags, perhaps 1-2 square inches in area. I would almost use my tank as a "pallet" and figure out what color morphs would look best in combination with other color morphs. Getting mixed rocks are great as well, but usually they are too big and too expensive for my taste. In other words, I don't want to have to rearrange my aquascaping because I have a very large zoanthid rock.
