Looks like I got the 180 running a bit too late. In the overcrowded 55, my little yellow leather was getting stung by my frogspawn. I'm not sure how long it was going on for, but now it's lost a fair amount of tissue in that area. and staying closed up.
This is one of my favorite corals, I'd like to do everything possible to save it. But I know this is one of those corals that's hard to bring back when it starts going south.
I waited a long time to find a captive-raised yellow leather because they don't seem to ship well, and the ones in the stores always seem to go south. So this won't be an easy one to replace.
The area of tissue loss is more cheese-like than anything else, no real infections to speak of or black necrosis.
I plan to place it in a higher-flow area, in front of a MJ1200 on a wavemaster pro.
I can also dip it, I have Kent Tech-D and Lugol's. Recommendations on which to use, if any? Any other advice?
I also fear that the change in environment is complicating the situation. It went from being under (basically) 2x96 PC to the 2x250W MH and 220 of VHO in the 180. My choices are to put it in a lower-light area with moderate flow, or higher light (on the bottom of the 24" tank) and in front of that maxi-jet.
Help appreciated, as always.
