I think there is some confusion as to what this mud is made for based on these other products. This is mud to grow seagrasses, mangroves and caps fans brushes etc... .It isn't made to add trace elements to your water over a 6 month term. We advise water changes to replace minors, or in a heavily planted tank they can be made with minor nutrient mixes, (or mixed with that stuff in a media bag). I have seen your setup, you seem to have all that, but if you are changing your sand bed every 6 months you may struggle with seagrass. Leave it and let it develop. This product is made to resemble a mud flat, an area with both high nutrients b/c of decomposing plant matter, but also very high anaerobic bacteria levels. (But since it is grown/made in house we can make it tannin free, mud flat water has wood, leaves etc...). Rooted plants are able to draw a steady stream of nutrients that are also being used by the bacteria. Mature tanks have higher nutrient levels than young tanks, it is just that they have the capacity to handle it. Does it make sense worded like that?
