| I've not done any reasearch on the cannons, but I was reading something by gregr the photo mod at RC, that if he were choosing between the G2, G3 and the G5, he would go with the G3. Personally the movable LCD...I'd break it in about 15 seconds. It takes great pics, but has some noise issues, which I think everyone is finding with cams over about 4 MP, whith the exception of the DSLR cams.
My thing there is...will it show up on print and will it show up on a web image. So far the answer to my cam is no. I know it won't show up on a 5X7 and I'm fairly certain when the pixels are scrunched to 300 DPI, it ain't gonna show up on an 8X10 (Which is the largest my printer will do...I think). As for a web image...a 100% crop will show some noise at 12 MP and some also at 6 MP, but it is highly unlikely at that size I will ever crop beyond 50% (if that high) and it doesn't have the slightest bit of noise at those magnifications. For the money...it's the best bang for the buck. |
