I don't think that's true about the public aquariums. In all my reading, including from those that ran/run those places, non "crashed" in 24/48 hours. There were other problems, which in the last few years have been solved (mostly pertaining to the scrubbing/scraping regimine), but overnight crashing was never one of them. Please post such an account if you can find them.
