I'm currrently using these principles also but I still run a skimmer, GFO, and carbon. I have a 65 watt bulb over some egg crate in my sump. Lots of algae gowing on it and the best part...it's easy to harvest. All you have to do is pull the eggcrate and spray off with a water hose twice a month and your ready for your next harvest. I don't have any spraybar though and it does just fine.
