I've got pods, now what?

I was planning to upgrade from a 37 to a 90 gal in April, then May, then June.......now shooting for August 4th. I bought more LR in March and had it "curing" in a 45 gal rubbermaid tote with a Magnum 350, maxi jet, & bio wheel for filtration. In May I purchased some macroalgae and tossed that in there and used one of those spiral plant lights. Its now become its own 45 gal ecosystem filled with pods, snails, and filter feeding sponges, with some bonus red cyano, hair algae, and a few aptasia. During water changes, I'm seeing tons of pods (and mysis) in the filter pads and "running" up the magnum hoses. A lot of them will just swim away if held out of the water long enough (or crawl on my hand which kinda creeps me out), but there are tons that burrow deeper into the pads. I've got 2 pads that are full of them and are now just part of the temporary decor. When I make the switch, can I just put the pads in the refugium and hope they find better accomodations?
