Sorry for your loss. That really stinks.

I would go ahead and get rid of the wet/dry now so your system doesn't depend on it. Remove them slowly over time so you do not shock the system.
Also, if you plan to go reef then start planning now. Example most angels are known for nipping corals. Not always but it is likely.
