Re: OT: Women of RS Thread

I checked in with the vet - wanted to go see him, but they said he is calm and doing well but gets excited when anyone comes over to his "bed", they want him calm and if I went he would get really excited so I'm not going. (that's really difficult, but better for his health...) Vet says he is still stable, alert as he can be with a bunch of morphine in him, had no trouble peeing this morning so no kidney issues, he has swelling at his jaw where he got bit, down his neck and chest. Vet said some bruising which is all normal. The swelling is not affecting his breathing so that is great. We are now just waiting to see if he will have blood coagulation problems. If his coagulation levels remain normal over the next 24 hours he will have no further problems, just swelling which can last for awhile. From all my research rattlesnake bites are not usually fatal in animals so that makes me feel better.

Thanks everybody for your concern - it means so much!!!
