| Re: Lorraine's 125 (et. al) - The 2nd Year Well, I did just that. I like it! The whole family is asking me why I did all of this though.
I ended up buying a new stand instead of using the used one. With what I just went through on my 125 I didn't want to chance the damaged particle board stand. It seemed sturdy, but I know after I put it up I wouldn't be happy with it.
I used the 30 gallon breeder tank to hold all my stuff except the green carpet. That was sweet! The green carpet was a PITA to get detached from the bottom of the tank, then I had him in a bucket while I did the switchover and he attached himself to the bottom of that. He is working his way down into the sand and wedging himself between a few rocks right in the same place he was before.
The RBTA is still attached to the large rock with the orange sponge. I think the sponge will be fine. The rock was too large to worry about keeping it submerged, but I was very quick.
I haven't done any aquascaping yet cause the water was too cloudy for that. It is clearing up nicely so maybe tonight I will tinker. And, I still don't have the HOB refugium or the skimmer hooked up. I wanted to keep as much bacteria going as I could, so I am keeping my HOB filters on for a while.
I'm happy with the result... |
