What you're doing is what I did to the 450. I used the hole that was inside the overflow box in the bottom, as one of the feeds for the CL. The only difference is, I used the siphon box to get the water to the sump. Actually, I used three of them and I'm getting around 3,300 gph with them. |
it really wouldn't matter if i used either. the tank is going in a wall so I have room for either.
but the overflows are cheaper the the lifereef ones.
I would have 2-1" and 2-3/4" holes in the bottom. so I would take the 2-1" as the intake for the CL and use the 2-3/4" as part of the return on the CL and the rest will go through a ocean motion 4 way.
I figure I will run about 400 to 500 gph through the 3/4's and 3000 gph through the ocean motion.
