First off... don't panic!
Gotta remember that BTA's reproduce by ripping themselves in half (or in quarters in my case)... I don't think a little puncture (or even a fairly large one) is going to necessarily mean imminent death.
I kinda did the same thing you did when taking out a pretty large BTA to return it to the LFS (the original 'seed' BTA that started my huge colony), but instead I tore off a good portion of it's foot.

Not only did the anemone survive, it ended up splitting in the LFS tank (dangit... he got a 2 for 1 deal

), and the piece of foot that tore off spent the next couple of weeks crawling around the rockwork looking for a good place to start growing.

I finally lost track of the foot piece right before tearing down the old tank.
I just wanted to let you know that there is hope... don't count yourself out yet.
