well no i dont use tap water, i do have some background with a reef tank hehe, i use water from the local water store its ro/di and they told me to get it there from local fish store here, i guess i would say its a brown dusting all over.it sure is ugly right now, i want it to be bright white and clean looking again. also im getting some very nice colors of coraline coming on, so maybe its not all bad and im just jumping the gun..i would like some opinions on this filter though and what i can do to make it better or adding a canister if needed for pristine water. im sure everyone will say refugium.i just dont have the 400 bucks right now for it, and i made a refugium before ..horrible outcome within 6 months time it broke and ....well thats another topic in itself i suppose
