Re: My slow 135g build

Seachem, which marinedepot sells, has a magnesium test. I have never tested for mg but I probably should, seems like only the higher end companys make them though.

I use api for ammonia, calcium and phosphates. The phosphates one is super hard to read!! I wouldnt recomend it. The other two work great for me but the calcium one readis in increments of 20ppm. So I am somewhere between 420 and 440 when I test. Thought I would shed some light on that.

I use seachem for nitirite and nitrate, ph, alk. I like it but it uses a color chart that slides through a piece of paper and you are supposed to match that to the color of the water so its kind of guess work. Not sure if salifert does the same thing or not. If it does then I dont se how the extra $$$ would be worth it.

I always like to add that I like to buy "locally", within CA for me. Otherwise shipping jut takes too long. Thats why I use mariendepot and not Dr F. Maybe you should look for someone in FL. Seems to be a super popular hobby over there on the east coast.
