| OT: Plumbers or Insurance folks here? In my Atlanta home, a pressure regulator failed, leading to external water pressure in excess of 120 PSI to burst my water heater and flood my basement.
Initially my insurance company said they would cover the flood, less deductable, but not the water heater. I have asserted that the failing device (regulator) caused all the downstream damage (including flood AND my water heater) and that, while the normal wear and tear provision prevents me from asking them to cover the regulator, they must cover the water heater as precipitant damage.
I think they are beginning to come to my POV. However has anyone else ever experienced this situation?
John
