I have really bad experience with carpet under tanks. My tank I had to put wedges under the front to keep level. I swear when I get my own place I will tear out all the carpet and put tile instead. If you can remove the carpeting just under the tank you will have a much more stable piece of furniture.

Is this still where the tank goes ? Have you installed carpet here instead ?
