| Help me choose some new tankmates! I've had a 30 gallon freshwater setup running for about 6 years now, but I haven't added anything to it for about 4.5 years since the fish have been healthy and I have focused my attention on my 75 gallon reef.
But recently I acquired a free 55 gallon tank, so this week I moved the whole 30 gallon setup into the 55 so now the fish and plants have about twice as much space and they seem very happy about it! But the tank's a bit empty now, so I'd like to add some more to it. Help me with suggestions for good, interesting tankmates to go along with what I've got!
Currently living there:
- A small school of 7 Hemigrammus tetras (3 Buenos Aires, 4 Golds)
- 3 misc corydoras (one of which was born in the old 30 gallon tank!)
- 1 bristle nose pleco
- 1 banjo catfish
- 1 marbled hatchetfish (the only survivor of a small school from 5 years ago)
- 3 very old and large batches of java ferns
All the fish in the tank are at least 4.5 years old since, as i mentioned, that was the last time I added anything to it!
I'm considering getting another banjo cat or two because they're cool, they're completely undemanding, and i've got a nice deep sand bed in the new setup for them to enjoy burrowing.
Any other suggestions? |
